I am committed to making art which is accessible, non-intimidating, and frequently references cultural aspects traditionally identified with women. Color, Shape, Texture and Form are pivotal features in my art.
The current series, "Late Bloomers" crystallized my artistic identity as a Colorist. The large flower paintings allowed me to fully engage in my dialogue with color, highlighting my long-term affinity with my garden in particular, and Nature in general. My fascination with organic forms and their astounding variety provides an infinite source of creative inspiration.
Past work emphasizes my use of traditional as well as alternative materials exploring 2D art with sculptural elements. By using familiar,everyday materials presented in unusual ways, multiple possibilities are implied for my own creative instinct as well the viewer's.
